I recently wrote a post about my journey into writing. My journey into blogging has not been so organised.
Firstly I have no idea when I started blogging. I would estimate about ten years ago. None of those blogs still exist. For as long as I can remember I have written book reviews. In the dark recess of my memory, I think this was my first blog.
I also know that I have written other blogs on relationships and my journey into fostering. Again, none of these still exist.
I have also experimented with all hosting sites. Previously, I had a personal blog on blogger. I found the platform hard to personalise. The mobile apps were also poorly organised. Not however as hard to use as Wix.
On Wix, I set up a business page. Views were poor. Since then I have tried Wix on several other occasions. Always with the same result, it isn’t for me.
For a while, I had a successful book blog on Tumblr. The views were good but, the interaction was poor. This was the blog that I later moved to Bookworm Sanctuary on WordPress.
In March 2018 I stumbled upon a little-known app called Medium. It propelled my blogging onto another level. I haven’t looked back since. Over time I have gained 450 followers and I have developed my personal website to over 100 followers.
Over the last six months, I have become a blogger. I blog on Medium with a personal portfolio on my website. I have three other sites which I maintain. My training company; my microfiction blog and my book review site.
Two months ago the dream happened, I actually started making money off my writing.
My blogging career has had it’s up’s and down’s but, thanks to Medium I am finally making progress.
