How To Grow Your Writing With a Mentor

A mentoring program that could take your writing to the next level. Set free the book that has been sat in your head.

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to teach creative writing to my English students. It was a unique experience combining my side hustle with my full-time work.

Since that moment I have been trying to find a way to combine my two careers again. To start with I love teaching it has been my profession for 25 years. I have even studied Education to degree level. On many occasions, I have talked about writing full time. However, this has always been so I can be a stay at home mum, not because I hate my job. I talk about leaving teaching, I’m not sure if I actually would.

I knew I had to find a method of combining my two professions again.

The Birth Of An Idea

Over my time of running my Facebook group, the aspect I enjoy is helping new writers develop. Then I had a lightbulb moment. I could teach others to write or at least support others to reach their full potential.

Everyone has the ability to write they need the support to start. That is where I would like to help others. I am experienced in helping others and providing feedback. My 25 years of teaching has been with young people excluded from mainstream school. I can teach even those, that others deem unteachable. I can drag the most reluctant student through to achieving.

Why You Need A Mentor

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey

A mentor can be a friend or a professional. It is someone who you can bounce idea’s off. A source of advice on many topics. It can also be someone who kicks you up the bum when you are slacking off. Many of us, myself included, will make excuses to myself on why I didn’t write today. To actually admit this to someone else would be harder. A mentor can also be a friend when life is tough. Someone who will tell you it is okay to put yourself first and will be there when you are ready to return.

My Mentoring Program

What I offer within my mentoring program is the following:

  • Weekly writing prompts and challenges.
  • Advice and help on structuring posts or novels
  • Advice and help on growing your social media following.
  • Someone to bounce ideas back and forth with.
  • Access to all my posts on writing tips
  • A dedicated email address where you can email me directly if you have a question or need advice
  • Monthly goal setting with help to achieve these goals.

There is no such thing as a stupid question. The only question that is stupid is the one not asked.

If you have always wanted to write a novel, but never knew where to start. Sign up and we can start working on it together. Your idea, your work, my guidance, your book and career.

Why Choose Me

I have a long teaching career which has seen me advance to the position of Deputy Head. This means I know how to structure learning material and how to goal set. I am also experienced in providing feedback to help you improve.

I published my first book this month. A children’s detective novel called The Detective Two. I have experience of the process of producing a book from the first sentence to publishing. I can guide you through every step.

I have learnt how to structure a post, I have a good idea of how to get curated and I know how to grow a social media following. I am producing my newsletter and editing two publications with a consistent following. You get all this for $10 a month.

The main reason you should choose me is that I am approachable and love helping others.
