The Most Social of Platforms
Social media the most social of platforms,
talk to strangers from all the world
ignoring the people sitting beside you
Same Cells, Same Species
Same cells, same series, different life
Plates piled high with food, watching TV
Kids starving playing in landfill
Our rubbish, their life, our disgrace
My Mother’s Voice
Eat your vegetables,
Put a coat on you’ll catch cold,
I open my mouth my mother I hear
The ageing of me has begun I must fear
Your smile is like a sunburst on a rainy day;
your smile can melt a snowstorm on a winters day;
your smile can melt my heart
A Small Hand in Mine
Happy is a little girls hug;
a small hand in mine;
being a mum.
The Terrible Two’s
Don’t climb I say, she smiles and pulls herself up, the rebellion of a two-year-old has begun.
Glaring fires streak the sky
On with time; reset the clock
All that life to start
Lost souls to leave
So many resolutions to break
The innocence of children as pure as untouched snow; untainted by footprints.
The indifference to third world famine;
whilst we stuff our faces; which country is developed.
Hand on Hand
Her tiny hand holding my hand
Her tiny heart, touched my heart.
