Revive Old Posts

Editing and republishing older posts is a brilliant way of keeping your audience engaged when you are busy. Have you ever had your job get in the way of your side hustle? Recently as we hurtle towards the end of the term, this has happened to me.

Although I have time to write some posts, I don’t have the time to research a new in-depth post.

  • How many times as a writer have you looked back at older posts and been ashamed?
  • As a reader, how many times have you read everything a writer has posted even their early material?

I willing to bet the answer to the first question is often and to the second is never.

Do you need any more convincing?

Sometimes when the world gets in the way, take a moment and find an old post. Change it, rewrite the parts that don’t flow and then republish. If you following has increased, new eyes will see the piece you have written and the reads will increase.

Another method of doing this is repurposing posts you have written for other platforms. I am doing this at the moment. Some of my Medium posts are being re-written to provide content for my website.

Repurposing old material is a good way to keep up your writing schedule when the world is too crazy to write.
