Thank you to all my followers and members of my group.
Recently I had become disheartened with the writing community. It appeared some writers, were taking for themselves and giving nothing back. I wrote a couple of moaning posts about it.
Well, I am not too big to say I was wrong. Very wrong.
On Tuesday morning, I read a heartfelt post from one of my favourite writers Whit Jackson. It spoke about being broke and what that did to a person. I have known Whit since I started writing on Medium and have always loved her work. If you follower her on other social media, you see what an amazing family she has.
After reading this post, I decided to try and help in a small way. I asked my followers and members of my group to read and clap.
Claps cost us as writers nothing. Yet can make a huge difference to some writers.
The response excelled even my expectations.
Every one of you helped, through clapping and support. Many of us had been in a similar position, so could relate.
As I write this post the post is up to 850 claps. Which I hope has helped, with a couple of extra cents at the end of the month.
Of course, the post could always do with more. So please click and clap.
A massive thank you.
To each one of you, who took five minutes to read and clap.
It proves that although, sometimes we can all be guilty of a little self-centred behaviour. When the need arises, we band together and help each other.
There is no better community than the writer’s community.
