Do you have enough drama in your life to write? Now before I start this post a disclaimer I love personal interest stories. I devour them with enthusiasm on Medium. So this post is not meant as a dig to them in any form. However, as I read these I wonder if I have enough drama in my life to write them. I came from a normal background. My parents treated me with respect and gave me a wonderful childhood. I have lived a drama-free life. Why write personal aspects in your writing?
Nature Versus Nurture — One of The Biggest Psychological Debates The debate between nature and nurture has been one that has fascinated me for many years. None more so than recently, as I watch my daughter grow. My daughter loves books and hates peas and dresses. I hate peas and dresses and love books. We are two peas in a pod, excuse the pun. We are a perfect genetic match, except we aren’t because she is my adopted daughter. This led me to think exactly how much of child development is nature and how much is nurture.
Seven simple steps you can adopt on your journey to a healthy body. As I start my journey, I realised that I needed to concentrate on both my physical health as well as my mental health. Combining both will achieve a healthy body. The mind monitors our impulse control. How many of you comfort eat when you are upset. Some of you may starve yourself if you are stressed. Neither are good for your weight or your well-being. Humans early on saw the link between physical and psychological well-being. The Greeks understood the importance of a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. That ethos became the foundation of their civilization.
My friends constantly let me down and the generosity of people I haven’t met overwhelm. Recently I spoke about leaving my full-time job because of health reasons. I have heard it said many times that you don’t know who your friends are until you need them. This, however, isn’t the first time when I have had to reevaluate my friendships groups. Why I have become a perpetual bad judge of character I will never know. Basically speaking I always try to see the good in people.
Meg came to, in the pitch black. She couldn’t remember where she was. Feeling around she felt the cold, damp concrete floor under her fingers. That was when she first realised that she was naked. She shivered as the cold and damp from the floor seeped into her bones. She started to shake, a mixture of cold and fear put her body into spasm. She sat up, the pain in her back was unbearable, as the feeling started to return. Hugging herself she tried to calm her breathing, to stop this uncontrollable shaking.
Baby girl asleep, sit and watch the screen at night then, a ghostly face
How to minimise the effect of publications on your scheduling. Last week, I worked out a clear schedule for posting three times a day and increasing my impact on writing.
