Step by step guide to your first Medium publication. Publications are spoken about, by Medium writers, as much as curation. This week I have also seen more than one writer asking how to set up a publication. So here is a basic guide to starting your publication. As with everything I am sure I will forget to cover everything, so if you have any questions feel free to add them to the comments below.
Using both types of publications and the features you can use to generate followers. Publications are a valuable asset to any writer. On Medium they can be especially useful, to gain views from readers who otherwise wouldn’t find your work.
Set yourself goals that challenge. If you read any post on improving your blogging income the advice appears to be, post more. Many of the same hashtags work, as on Twitter, although, I would also use #writersofinstagram.
Facebook groups are a valuable asset to writers. However, be a community member, not a drop and run writer. So recently I have found myself moaning about fellow writers. Last week I wrote a post about how selfish writers are. I will put the link at the end of this post, for anyone who may have missed it. I don’t like this side to me, but some things need speaking about. I promise after this no more moans.
If you want to be a successful author you need to be so much more than a writer. Recently Twitter has been getting some bad publicity, but it is still valuable to writers. It is the social media platform, I have had the most reads through. Twitter has a huge writer and blogger network. The people I have interacted with have always been supportive and friendly. Yes, the platform does have a large percentage of trolls but with the block option, this should not be a problem.
